The Team Evo bib shorts from MAAP have been wildly popular and have now become even more practical with the addition of cargo pockets. The Team Evo Cargo bib shorts take the performance orientated fit and feel of the the Team Evo bibs and combine it with pockets to allow easier access to snacks, a phone or tools on the go.
The fit is the standout feature of these bibs; it's exceptional. The 80/20 polyamide and elastane mix offers the perfect amount of support, compression and comfort to be worn all day. The legs are a perfect length for me and the hem is kept in place by a silicone gripper which I found kept the hem locked in place. The proportions of the shorts were ideal too, the midriff section of the shorts was just right and the bib straps were highly breathable yet stretchy and felt very comfortable both riding hard and standing around in the cafe.
The pockets are almost unnoticeable when empty, they sit flush with the legs and are elasticated to make getting items in and out much easier. I wouldn't go stashing any bulky time in these pockets but they were perfect for a phone or empty bar wrappers.
I found the chamois to be very comfortable, up there with the very best. The pad varies in thickness and density to provide optimal support where it’s needed across a range of riding positions.
There’s no denying these are a very premium pair of bib shorts but if you’re looking to ride long distances in comfort with cargo carrying capacity, these are an excellent choice. I’d even go as far as saying they are the most comfortable shorts I’ve ever tested…
