2027 Gravel Race Calendar: UK & Europe Events, Dates and Entries

2027 Gravel & Bikepacking Race Calendar — UK & Europe

Dates as announced by organisers · TBC = 2027 date not yet published, typical timing shown · last checked

Every gravel race and bikepacking event worth planning your 2027 around

Planning a season means juggling a dozen organiser websites, each announcing dates at its own pace. This calendar pulls them into one place: gravel races and bikepacking events across the UK and Europe in 2027, with dates, distances, start locations, entry prices and a link to every organiser.

Browse it as a month-by-month calendar or a full chronological list, and filter to UK gravel events only, or open it up to everything from Andalucía to Kyrgyzstan. Dates marked TBC are events whose 2027 edition hasn't been announced yet — the timing shown is where they've traditionally landed, so you can pencil them in without booking flights.

UK gravel races in 2027

The British season runs roughly March to October. It opens on the sand at Battle on the Beach and builds through the spring classics — Dirty Reiver in Kielder Forest, The Gralloch in Galloway Forest Park, and the coast-to-coast Frontier 300. Midsummer is the busiest stretch, with Dalby Grit, Gravel Escape in the South Downs, North London Dirt, Grinduro Scotland and the Stone Circle festival near Stonehenge inside a few weeks of each other. Autumn winds down through Hell of the North Cotswolds, Struggle Borderlands in the Dales and the Dunoon Dirt Dash in Argyll.

European gravel races and bikepacking events

Further afield the calendar covers the major European gravel races — The Traka in Girona, Santa Vall, Ranxo and Gravel Desert in Spain, and The Rift in Iceland — alongside the ultra-distance side of the sport. That includes the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco, Badlands in Andalucía, the Hellenic Mountain Race through the Pindus Mountains, the Three Peaks Bike Race from Vienna to Nice, Silk Road Mountain Race in Kyrgyzstan and the Two Volcano Sprint from Vesuvius to Etna.

When do 2027 entries open?

Most organisers open entries six to twelve months ahead and the popular ones sell out fast — Dirty Reiver, Brother in the Wild, Bright Midnight and the Nordic Chase all sold out their 2026 editions. Several of the ultras are application-based or balloted rather than first-come, so the window matters: Hellenic Mountain Race applications, for instance, run 7–28 September 2026. Where entry details are known they're shown on each event.

Gravel race or bikepacking ultra?

The two categories ride very differently. Gravel races are typically 45–220 km in a day, fully supported with feed stations, timing and a finish line — the natural starting point if you're new to off-road events. Bikepacking races are self-supported and run from around 460 km to nearly 2,000 km, with no outside assistance and days of riding between resupply points. Use the type filter to see one or the other.
